Chris Stirrett

Fred Stirrett's mom, Dorothy Stirrett, is in ICU. She had surgery on Monday, 3/5, to remove a stone in her stomach. The surgeon did not find a stone, but found "sludge" which he cleaned out. This was outpatient surgery. The next day she was complaining of pain and being sick so she called the surgeon and he told her to go to the ER. The doctors found a cut in her stomach so they sent her back to the surgeon (Effingham to Springfield) by ambulance. The surgeon does not want to do surgery as it is a very dangerous surgery, so they are going to see if her stomach will heal on its own over the next few days. This is a very painful process for Fred's mom. They are keeping the stomach dried out and feeding her directly to blood stream with IV. We are praying for a miracle at this point, that the stomach will show signs of healing on its own. On Saturday the doctor will determine if they need to proceed with surgery. Thank you for praying.
